Emi Comaroff is a Japan-born artist based in Singapore. Emi's painting is inspired by her multi-racial background and exposure to diverse cultures and art. Born into an artistic family in Tokyo, and having visited her father's native South Africa from a young age, Emi negotiates and combines minimalistic and exotic elements. The artist’s appreciation of Japanese aesthetics ‘Wabi-Sabi’ including asymmetry, simplicity, austerity and modesty.

Her organic abstract consist of delicate freehand lines and geometrical forms. The subtle healing sensation of the movement often connects the viewers to tune in to their inner clarity and peace. Emi's work invites one to engage with the unknown and transport realities and energies of time, space and nature through her multi-layered interpretational art.

Much of Emi’s creation carries understated elegance that respects balance and nature. Its contemporary aesthetic has a modern appeal and fits cleanly with the minimalist movement. Some of her works can be appreciated horizontally, vertically, or adjacent to one another, enabling viewers to explore different compositions.

In 2020, Emi’s artworks were shown at group exhibitions in London.
