Mahajan's art is based on the notion of the inward journey to finding tranquility and the philosophy of mysticism. Her actual everyday life, aspirations, dreams, struggles, interests, and life experiences are always at the core of her imagination. It’s an interplay of art and life, as much as life influences her art, her art, in turn, influences her life. That’s how she rejuvenates life in her artworks. Mahajan has found painting as her medium to think, communicate and create.
Mahajan's artwork allows her to be mindful of her own existence. Describe it as the ‘Circle of Life' in simple terms, the artist sees her work as something seemingly simple but very complex philosophically.
" Every individual tries to find peace by shifting the center according to his calling in life. The center of life is much more dynamic and the circumference is quite static. "
Mahajan mostly uses neutral colors as she believes that colour should not be used to express feeling or mood, but it simply indicates the natural reality of colourless. With that, the artist hopes that her art evokes a sense of tranquillity, positivity, a state of meditative being and sensitivity in the viewer’s mind.
