Sabine Aichhorn is an Austrian abstract painter who studied animated film, painting and tapestry at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and textile art and design at the University of Art and Design Linz.
Aichhorn spent a few years working with films before transitioning to abstract paintings and portrait drawings. Aichhorn often starts her abstract pieces with intuition without expecting the end results. The geometric shapes in her abstract work stem from her interest in architecture. The interplay between lines, triangles and squares is the manifestation of that. In addition to paintings, Aichhorn's drawings often offer introspection into the portrayed person. Despite their comic-like style, her drawings depict an apparent interpersonal confrontation.
Aichhorn had many exhibitions in museums, galleries and abroad. She was also the Artist in Residence in Amsterdam and Los Angeles. The artist currently lives and works in Vienna, Austria.
