Moran Trabelsi is a multidisciplinary designer and artist. With a formal education in fashion design, she has previously worked in fashion, graphic design, and product design. The artist’s passion for ceramics started out as a hobby, but soon turned into a full-time profession when she opened her own studio in Tel Aviv.
Enchanted and inspired by nature and its patterns in general, the artist has a special passion for the underwater creatures that are the product of an endless evolution. In her ceramic art she gives physical form to this lifelong fascination by creating magnified, almost otherworldly seashells.
All vessels are hand-built from various stoneware clays, encompassing pinch, coil, and slab methods. Each piece is first carefully crafted into a silhouette and then layered and carved with soft clay to achieve the shell curves aesthetic.
"My vessel’s sculptural language is formed by my attraction to examine living forms characteristics, engaging with themes of fantasy, and creating a sense of movement in a still life object, using abstract curves and tilts."
The artist currently lives and works in Tel Aviv, Israel.
