Marek Ehrenberger's work often teeters between design and visual art. The artist gravitates to an illustrative approach - a product of pragmatic yet conceptual thinking and a variety of methods from classical drawing to digital tools.
He gained his experience during his studies at the Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in Prague, as well as during internships in studios in Zurich, Barcelona and New York.
The portraits, which he has been creating since 2018, are created with computer vector drawings and subsequently transferred using stencils onto a wooden surface. These are then painted with acrylics to create objects that exist at the intersection of digital and analogue worlds. Characterised by their precise and vivid execution, these artworks represent distinctive members of today's ever-changing individualistic society. A world in which each of us is forced to search for our own language, tribe and place.
