Helen Shulkin

  • Belarusian, 1978

  • Bio

Born in Belarus, Helen Shulkin graduated from a classical art school in Molodechno and earned a Fine Art and Drawing Degree at the Belarusian State University of Minsk. Since 2015, the artist has been living and working in Germany.

Shulkin’s work represents posturban spaces, dominated by architecture. She envisions the beginning of a new illusory era, in which cities will become a cluster of moving dimensions scattered in the form of abstract spatial shapes enveloped by light.

The artist’s work combines the notion of a high-tech society with a disruption of tectonics. As a result, the spatial objects she portrays take on an incredible plasticity, a combination of volumes and shapes in a colorful kaleidoscope of postmodern styles. Spaces are rendered in a highly individual aesthetic that represents a new mode of experience for postmodern architecture.

Helen Shulkin currently lives and works in Hamburg, Germany.
