Cyanide Skull, 2020
7 ⅞ × 10 in
This is the second painting in the cyanide series. A truly morbid artwork, with a strong energy in the form of a vast Prussian Blue that envelops the canvas.
“Primary colors have strong symbolic connotations. However, less dominant symbolism can be just as valid. Black can function as fertile soil and white can be as relentless as a blinding fire. Blue, in turn, has known a long and complex history in the art world, but it is rarely associated with death. On the one hand, blue is considered dark and beautiful as the ocean, on the other, it can be as poisonous and fatal as cyanide.”
