Power Plants, 2020

Acrylic on Canvas
100 × 100 cm
39 ⅜ × 39 ⅜ in

‘‘The civilization and technological progress of mankind has always been based on the exploitation of natural resources, including for energy production.

The main focus in the painting is on the greenhouse full of lush plants. A closer look reveals that this greenhouse is actually a factory, as can be seen from the striking shed roof that is typical of historical factory buildings.

Thick, acrid smoke rises up the chimney and then wafts through the sky before it condenses again in the background into a plain high-rise made of gray concrete. With this composition, "Power Plant" tries to bridge the gap between unspoiled nature and the hectic and busy urban canyons of modern metropolises.‘‘

Every purchase includes a certificate of authenticity and a pair of white cotton art handling gloves.
