In this piece after Fragonard, Petra von Kazinyan thematizes the meaning of friendship in a world of hyperconnectivity driven by technology. Are we disconnected in a connected world? Or too connected in a disconnected world? The original painting dates from 2019 and is part of Petra von Kazinyan’s series SEE STORIES, which is the sequel to her ALTER IDEM cycle from 2014 that deals with concepts of identity in the digital era. This follow-up tackles the impact social media has on today’s society; how it impacts human relationships in real life.
