The sun I setting low on the horizon this time of the year and is creating fabulous color displays before its gone. The seasonal changes and dramatic weather give us some truly spectacular clouds and with the sea as a big mirror, it inspires the use of new palettes, going with the flow of movements and the fabulous play of colors.

''I love the spectacular cloud formations this season bring us, these ever-changing and gorgeous color displays. I take hundreds of photographs of the sky, way too many, but I can’t seem to help myself, they change so rapidly and I want to hold on to the mood of the moment and be able to take a second look at the beauty before me. I have always been fascinated by weather signs, to read the sky, looking for signs to predict the weather. I love listening to people who know the way of nature when they share their knowledge about this. in my mind's eye I see her when she’s standing outside her front door speaking into the air and to whoever wants to listen about her observations and predictions with nonchalance and in a haphazard sort of way. This fascination leads me to read about clouds and what they tell us about the weather and the changes that are underway. These series are born from this curiosity.

In the September Song series, I have been working with movements and flow in a limited palette, using shadows and light as an accent. Repetitive marks yet with variation to make it interesting and get it moving. Inspired by the movements brought on by the wind, the pastels lend themselves so easily to create wispy weightless clouds.''
